George Soros Biography :

George Soros was born on August 12, 1930, in Budapest. Budapest is the capital and largest city of Hungary. It is located on both sides of the Danube River in the central-northern part of Hungary. 

Hungary is a landlocked country located in the Pannonian Basin of Central Europe. It is bounded on the north by Slovakia, on the east by Ukraine and Romania, on the south by Serbia and Croatia, on the southwest by Slovenia, and on the west by Austria. George Soros Early life and education :

George Soros was born in Budapest, the capital and largest city of Hungary. His father name is Tivadar Sros and mother name is Elizabeth. George's father Tivadar was a lawyer and a well-known Esperanto-speaker who edited the Esperanto literary magazine Literatura Mondo and raised his son to speak the language.

The family changed the name from Schwartz to Soros in 1936 due to the rise of anti-Semitism with the rise of fascism. Soros means "next in line, or named successor" and in Esperanto it means "flying high".

George Soros married Annalise Witschak and Suzanne Weber Soros twice and divorced both times. They had five children Robert, Andrea, Jonathan (from first wife, Annaliese); Alexander is Gregory (with his second wife, Suzanne). 

He has a private investor and public-friendly elder brother, Paul Soros, a retired engineer who heads the Soros Associate, a New York international engineering farm, and founded the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for Young Americans. Soros Peter, nephew of George Soros and son of Paul Soros, is married to Flora Fraser, a daughter of Lady Antonia Fraser and Sir Hugh Fraser and the stepdaughter of 2005 Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter.

George Soros Early Life :

Soros was thirteen years old in March 1944 when Nazi Germany took military control of Hungary. Soros worked for the Jewish Council, implementing the anti-Jewish policies of the Nazi and Hungarian government that were established during the Nazi occupation of Hungary.

Business Of George Soros :

Soros is the founder of Soros Fund Management. In 1970, he founded the Quantum Fund with Jim Rogers, which brought huge success for Soros. Rogers retired from the fund in 1980. Other partners joined as Victor Niederhofer and Stanley Druckenmiller. Quantum funds received about 32% return in 2007, totaling $2.9 billion to Soros.

Soros has been active in public interest since 1970, when he started by helping to provide funding to black students at the University of Cape Town in apartheid South Africa, and funding protests from behind the scenes.

The public interest of Soros also includes funding for efforts to promote non-violent democratization in pre-Soviet countries. In most of the Central and Eastern Europe, these efforts were primarily carried out through the Open Society Institute (OSI) and the National Soros Foundation, which for the time being called by other names (such as the Stefan Batori Foundation in Poland). PBS estimated that they had given $4 billion in total by 2003. OSI says that in recent years, about $400 billion has been spent annually.

In 2007, Time magazine asked Soros to give $742 million for the project in the US - two special projects - $100 million for the Internet infrastructure of the Russian University and 50 million on the Millennium Promise for the Elimination of Africa's Severe Poverty.
