The spread of Corona has started again in most countries of the world including China. In the last one week, 36 lakh cases of corona have been reported in major countries of the world. Around 10 thousand people have died in these 7 days.

Apart from China, cases are increasing rapidly in Argentina, Brazil and Japan. Due to the increasing cases of Corona around the world, the Government of India has also called a review meeting on Corona.

In the last 7 days, 3,632,109 cases of Corona have been reported worldwide. 1055578 cases have been detected in Japan alone. Apart from this, 460,766 cases have been found in South Korea, 384,184 in France, 284,200 in Brazil, 272,075 in America, 223,227 in Germany, 108,577 in Hong Kong, 107,381 in China's neighboring Taiwan.

In the last 7 days in Japan, 1670 people have lost their lives due to Corona, while in America 1607 people have lost their lives. Apart from this, 335 people have died in South Korea, 747 in France, 973 in Brazil, 868 in Germany, 226 in Hong Kong, 203 in Taiwan, 397 in Italy.

According to new estimates by the US-based Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, China's strict COVID-19 restrictions could lead to an explosion of coronavirus infections in the country and more than 1 lakh deaths by 2023. Cases of Covid-19 infection will peak in China around April 1, when deaths will reach 3,22,000.

Christopher Murray, director of the IHME, said that by then about a third of China's population would have been infected. China's National Health Authority has not reported any official COVID deaths since the lifting of COVID restrictions. The last official death was recorded on December 3. According to the report, a total of 5,235 people have died due to the corona epidemic.

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, an independent modeling group at the University of Washington in Seattle, has relied on projections by governments and companies in several countries during the coronavirus pandemic. IHME obtained provincial data and information on the recent Omicron outbreak in Hong Kong.

"There have been hardly any Covid deaths in China since the Wuhan outbreak. So we looked to Hong Kong to get an idea of the death rate of the infection," Murray said. For its forecast, IHME is using the information on vaccination rates provided by the Chinese government, as well as estimating how different provinces will respond to rising infection rates.
