How To Check Fastag Balance With Vehicle Number?

This is the logo of Fastag

Fastag is an electronic toll collection system introduced by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to facilitate smooth and seamless payment of toll charges at National Highways. It is a small sticker that is affixed to the windscreen of your vehicle and linked to a prepaid account.

When you pass through a toll plaza, the Fastag reader at the toll booth scans the tag and automatically deducts the toll charge from your prepaid account. This eliminates the need to stop and pay toll charges manually, saving time and fuel.

How To check the balance of your Fastag account:

1) Visit the Fastag portal - The first step is to visit the Fastag portal ( and click on the ‘Check Balance’ option.

2) Enter your Fastag account details - You need to enter your Fastag account number and the mobile number associated with your account. You will also be asked to enter a captcha code for security purposes.

3) Check your balance - Once you have entered all the required details, click on the ‘Check Balance’ button. This will display your current Fastag balance and the account details.

4) Check Fastag balance through SMS - Another option to check your Fastag balance is through SMS. To do this, you need to send an SMS in the format “BAL XXXX” to the number 5676788. Here, XXXX is your Fastag account number. You will receive an SMS with your balance and account details.

5) Check Fastag balance through the mobile app - If you have downloaded the MyFastag app on your phone, you can also check your balance through the app. To do this, you need to login to the app using your Fastag account details and click on the ‘Account’ tab. This will display your current balance and account details.

In case you have multiple Fastag accounts linked to your vehicle, you can check the balance of each account separately by following the above steps.

It is important to regularly check your Fastag balance to ensure that you have sufficient balance in your account to pay the toll charges. If your balance is low, you can recharge your account online or at a Fastag point of sale (POS) location. You can also set up an auto-recharge option, which automatically tops up your Fastag account when the balance goes below a certain threshold.

In addition to checking the balance, it is also important to ensure that your Fastag account is active and linked to your vehicle. If your Fastag account is inactive or not linked to your vehicle, you will not be able to use the Fastag system and will have to pay toll charges manually.
